Olly Williamson (b.Lancashire, UK) is currently based in London. Williamson makes work about quiet situations of life; utilising intense observation and experimental structures of composition. His images reflect the underlying rhythms of the people and world he sees around him - hoping to make the everyday feel monumental. As well as his studio paintings and drawings, Williamson makes large scale murals.
Williamson studied at the Royal Drawing School and Manchester School of Art. His work has been exhibited widely and is held in several private and public collections, including the Royal Collection. He was commissioned to make a major commission for St James Palace in 2025. Williamson has been awarded multiple prizes for his work, including the Hesketh Hubbard Bursary for Drawing (2024), the Paragon Print Prize (2023) and the ACS Drawing Prize (2023). Alongside his practice Williamson is a Drawing Tutor on the Young Artists Programme at the Royal Drawing School.
